Well, today has been interesting especially as I have watched the statistics on my ACM blog go through the roof the last few days. I started noticing on Saturday that my blog was becoming more read and wondering what had happened. So after a quick look at my stats in sitemeter and then adding my stats counter code again, I found that I’ve been getting a zillion visits because people are looking for a Christian perspective on A New Earth by Tolle.
Here are a few of the Google searches that have come through…disregard the other search phrases, but look at all the interest in this book. I’m finding this AMAZING…
Not only that but it speaks to me of the interest in whether or not Oprah is a Christian and if Tolle is a Christian.
Another interesting thing that happened today in regards to this is that some woman named Stephanie emailed me about the Oprah event and gave me access to some behind the scenes web materials and stats on the upcoming web event that Oprah is hosting with Tolle.
As of the time of this blog entry there are 380,000 people signed up for this free class and the class continues to grow.
And here are some stats as of February 21st regarding Oprah and the book.
- 3.6 million books in print
- Fastest selling book club book ever
- 386K have already signed up for the Web Event
- 1,000+ Reading Groups have started on Oprah.com
- Debuted on the New York Times “Advice, How-To” bestseller list at #1
What all of this tells me is that this is a great opportunity for bible believing Christ followers to roll up their sleeves, do their homework and learn about this New Age teaching that is taking the world by storm. It’s time to study the bible and compare what that says, with the lies Tolle and Oprah are promoting and get to work. That’s what I’m doing and I hope a few other bible believing Christ followers join me. Since there is a ton of interest, now is the time to act.
And I suspect that as a result of this post, the stats on this blog will also skyrocket. I’ll let you know what happens.

Well, I was searching, “a new earth christian perspective” because I wanted to know, “Is it ok to read it or not.” I no longer trust Oprah’s judgment I believe she loves Jesus, but isn’t discipled enough to discern worldly from godly.

For all of you trying to find out if Oprah and or Tolle are Christians or whether or not to read The New Earth etc…Let me just say an emphatic NO!
On her webcast March 3, 2008 with Tolle author of the The New Earth They sang the praises of Joel Goldsmith. Joel Goldsmith was a Christian Scientist and also a Freemason – for those of you who do not know anything about Freemasonry – read up- They began the New Age Movement and their Scottish Rite Journal was once entitled The New Age oh and they really are running the world!
Oprah in calling herself a Christian stated on this webcast that there are many paths to God – Uh…to be a Christian is to believe in John 3:16. She also stated with Tolle’s nod that His (Jesus’) teaching were “misinterpreted”!
Tolle quoted (and almost apologized) the verse “Be still and know that I am God” His take on this verse? That we are to be still and go in – into the deepest place within…to know WE are god! Sounds just like that ole serpent!
He went onto express that what we BELIEVE in is not important – just that we are present. (?) Understanding is not the essence it is experiencing – it is not through your mind. This would all be laughable if it were not being crammed down our throut by the gal with the Midas touch Oprah…BEWARE!

I read the book with my neighbors as a book discussion. It is amazing that when I did a search 6 weeks ago and then a search tonight on the internet! I could not find much about a Christian perspective 6 weeks ago on Tolle’s most recent book. Tolle is very adapt on twisting lies and truths together. That’s what makes it so scary. I do think discerning Christians need to read the book to be able to counter lies. Also- Oprah does NOT believe Jesus is the way- she believes he is one of MANY ways to heaven.
My neighbors have bought into this book, hook, line and sinker.
