At Last My Logos is Completely Installed

It feels like forever since I bought my Logos Software, but at last I finally have it fully installed on my Macbook Pro.  It was quite the adventure…

After ordering the Logos Software, I had to order the Parallels software so I could use it on my Macbook Pro.  Once I received the Parallel Software, which was Saturday, then I had to find an old version of Microsoft XP, the problem is that I didn’t have all the right information for the version I had.

So then I made the decision to bite the bullet and go and buy a brand new version of Microsoft XP so that I could install that using my Parallel Software, so then I could actually run my new $500+ bible software.

So I ended up spending $253 in order to run a $500 bible program.  What a great investment! :)   Part of me jests, and part of me thinks about the long term benefits to spending a grand total of around $753 to do bible study online.  (I guess to some people that’s actually slightly crazy)  Hmmm….

However, when you consider that $753 divided by a lifetime of use (barring any purple paint around my computer) then that’s not a bad investment at all.

In fact, if I were to have all of these things installed on my computer and use it daily for 753 days then we could say that it was the low cost of a dollar a day.   That is definitely cheaper than a dollar meal lunch at El Pollo Loco.  (Incidentally, I love El Pollo Loco, except I don’t like their new crunchy burrito).

ANYWAY….all of that to say that I really LOVE LOGOS Software and I will be writing more of a review about it in the coming days.

In the meantime check out www.logos.com and look for The Scholar’s Library to see what I got.  You may be jealous, or you may want to be like me and get one for yourself.

Visiting A Friend in Jail Today

To say that today has been an interesting day would be an understatement.   And instead of boring you with all the details of the day I’ll jump forward to the time I spent waiting in long lines to get into the jail so that I could see a friend who has been falsely accused of “terrorist threats”.

It appears these days that some people don’t mind allowing real terrorists walking around, while others like my friend are accused of terrorist threats based on hearsay and a cowardly accuser.  But here is the kicker for this whole thing….

This is my third or fourth time visiting my friend in jail and this time was interesting and not because of him, but rather the guy that was visiting his son in the window next to us.  Talk about watching a train wreck waiting to happen.  No wonder his kid is in jail.

Here this man was loudly proclaiming that he gets prescription drugs like painkillers and the like, for 5 bucks from the pharmacy, and then he goes and sell them on the campus at UC Irvine.  He said that he makes $10 a pill (or more) and just takes all the money from that and moves on.   And we wonder why this mans son is in jail.

Meanwhile my husband overheard the man using the f-word numerous times in a row, and then when his wife used the word once, he yelled at her and told her to stop swearing.    I think that is what we call true hypocrisy.

Anyway, we had  nice visit with our friend and on our way out we reported this character to the deputies who were working the desk.  They assured us that they wouldn’t forget this man and they’d keep an eye on him.

And unfortunately, tonight someplace there is a man who is plotting the destruction of others lives – whether he cares or not.  Obviously he doesn’t.

So if you know of anyone who does drugs or sells drugs, do what you can to intervene and of course pray for these people so that they will know the Lord Jesus can deliver them and set them free from their pain.
